Karen Dombroskie has been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2001. She graduated from Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough with honours and received an award for outstanding academic achievement. Following graduation she put her knowledge into practice providing care in Kingston, then later in Guelph, Ontario.
Her focus is on client centred care, empowering the individual to take an active role in their own health and recovery. She provides an empathic approach to treating people of all ages dealing with pain, muscle and joint injuries and stress due to lifestyle changes these setbacks can create.
In 2012 she returned to her hometown of Barry’s Bay, Ontario with her young family and started a practice at the Natural Health Centre. She provides manual therapy including Swedish massage, joint mobilizations and home exercise plans to help people achieve their health goals.
Karen has been a long time member of the Registered Massage Therapists Association of Ontario (RMTAO) that advocates for the important role of massage therapy in healthcare. She had taken additional training in clinical reasoning and comprehensive assessment as well as yoga teacher training to better support peoples health needs. Her most recent interest is in end of life care and the role massage therapy can have for individuals and families during this delicate time.
Outside of work she enjoys rural living with her family, gardening, cycling and pastel art.
